Jim Bates is President and CEO of Destination Hotel Partners. He is also Vice Chairman/CEO of DHP Asia LLC, a China-based joint venture hotel development company, and Vice Chairman/CEO of Goldstone Hospitality Group LLC, a New York-based joint venture hotel development company.
Jim has a long and successful track record in the hospitality industry for over 35 years. His innovative and dynamic approach to building brands, developing new product and executing excellent return on investment makes him a sought after expert in the market. He has held senior management positions with Hilton Hotels, Canadian Pacific, Best Western International, Hampshire Hotels and Resorts, Helmsley Hotels, Boutique Hotels & Resorts International, as well as several independent properties and projects.
He began his career in Beverly Hills, CA at the Beverly Hills Hotel, Beverly Wilshire Hotel, and The Beverly Hilton Hotel. Jim served on several advisory boards including: Travel Industry Association of America, Pow Wow Planning Committee, World Travel Mart, ITB Berlin, Luxury Travel Expo, Best Western International EMAC Committee, Choice Hotels, Cendant Preferred Partners Committee, NYSAE We Love New York Day Chairman and NYSAE Chairman Associates Committee, Hotel Sales & Marketing Association International and Leading Hotels of The World Marketing Advisory Committee. He has served on numerous Convention and Visitors Bureaus Boards of Directors and advisory boards worldwide; and has participated on numerous panels and guest speaking engagements worldwide including NAFEO Conference, CHIC, Nixon Peabody IPED Conference and White House Initiative on HCBU’s, and Shangri La Asia Conference.
As a real estate developer, Henry Hewes has developed and constructed a variety of real estate products. In New York City, he has developed, constructed, or reconstructed 37 different structures. These include over 1,000 units of housing and commercial centers.
Through the European American Trust Corp., he was active in the development business in Poland where his projects included the highly-acclaimed Metropolitan Complex. In Ecuador, he worked with the U.S.–Ecuador Development Corp. which is involved in five residential projects that have a total of 3,000 residential units and commercial centers. The best known of these is Satellite City of Los Angeles in Guayaquil.
In addition to his core business, Henry has been an active venture capitalist with investments in real estate, technology and communications. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Destination Hotel Partners, LLC. He is a Board Member of American Planning and Development Corp., Badillo Partners, Agrotropical of Ecuador, Ecuador Produce, US-Ecuador Development Corp., Self-made TV, Washington Chronicle Corp., CEG Corp. of Panama, and of several real estate investments corporations.
Among the many civic organizations on which he has served are the prestigious Dalton School, The City Club of New York, the American Planning Association, The Municipal Planning Association, and MYATC. Henry is also a trustee of the Hewes Foundation.
David Feldman specializes in real estate development, asset management, repositioning strategies, and investment structures. He has vast experience in property development, construction, and corporate finance. David has been instrumental in organizing and running a range of companies including Broadway Bushwick Builders, Hewes Feldman Colao Inc., Century Builders Corp., IVS Corp., and ISCON Corp. He currently sits on a number of corporate boards.
As a real estate developer, he has over 30 years experience and a proven track record in commercial and residential development, construction management and general contracting worldwide including projects in Russia, Ukraine, Europe, Panama, Ecuador, and throughout the U.S. His current projects include residential, commercial and several infrastructure projects. Over the years, he has successfully completed over 100 different projects.
In the area of technology, David has played key roles in several different projects and has organized first round seed and venture capital raises.
At Destination Hotel Partners, David is both a major shareholder and a key executive. His primary responsibilities are partnership relationships and investor financing of projects. Joseph Carollo brings in 30 years of experience in Design and Building, he is responsible for leading Cadd, Inc. through the years, incorporated in 1985 Cadd has been diversified in Design, Development, and Building, responsible from conception through its completion with quality and in a timely manner. Leading I.E.E.S. Integrated Engineered Energy Solutions an energy conservation Co. in supporting many building owners in complying with LL84 & LL87 . At this time Venturing & expending our firm with Aguilera into IEES Architecture + Design + Engineering. Joe will bring in years of track record experience, and managing $3.5 billion in projects. Joe will carry out the mission and message: to bring a client-centric streamlined, efficient and fresh approach to the Architectural, Design, and construction marketplace “preconstruction services”, and now Energy Management. Joe also has an extensive experience in property management, this gives him banking relations in many financial institutions & organizations National & International.
Timothy Chhatwal is a hotel veteran of 27 years specializing in hotel operations, finance, marketing, revenue management, and food and beverage. His expertise in hotel development comes through extensive hands-on experience in hotel renovations, repositioning mid-scale properties into lifestyle products during his tenure of 21 years with Hampshire Hotels and Resorts, New York City, which also included opening of an upscale property in India.
A graduate of Salzburg Institute of Hotel Management in Bad Hofgastein, Austria, he and his team introduced the tourism segment in State of Qatar while working at Sheraton Doha Hotel and Resort in the late 1980′s. His team pioneered the development of the tourism infrastructure for the Gulf state and introduced various tourist activities including desert safari and deep sea fishing, which continues to be popular to this day.
William Quinton Brothers III, Architect is a professional practice committed to design excellence and superior project management.
Bill began his architectural career in 1973 as the founding architect for a nonprofit community housing development company called Los Sures in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. After completing several low income housing projects he proceeded to develop a diverse architectural career through his work with several nationally acclaimed design firms. As a specialist in planning and programming, he developed specific expertise in corporate office, research, manufacturing and storage facilities. Later experience extended his corporate background to institutional, healthcare, municipal clients and later back to housing development. Bill has been the senior designer for projects such as corporate headquarters for Westwood Pharmaceutical Inc., and Liberty State Park in Jersey City, NJ.
As a project manager, he was responsible for projects including a $600 million factory for Stauffer Chemical Corporation in Anderson, SC to an 18-story apartment house in midtown Manhattan.
Since commencement of private practice in 1982, he has specialized in housing both in Harlem and adjacent neighborhoods. His firm specializes in luxury and government-assisted housing, hospitality and resort projects, healthcare planning and design projects, and community and use planning. His range of professional services include planning and preliminaries, detailed design, construction, and procurement. Clients for the above include not-for-profit organizations, hospitals, governmental agencies, and quasi- governmental joint venture organizations.
With 30 years of experience in operating and designing kitchens, bars, concessions and serveries across the country, in the Caribbean and Europe, Gary Jacobs has a long history of addressing both the pre- and post construction demands of all levels of foodservice operations. In designing a facility, he is as concerned with first cost, fit and flow as he is with durability, adaptability and ease of long term maintenance. With a long and distinguished list of clients that he has built over the years, he has been able to learn from the best, and has identified the elements common to all successful operations.
Among the designers and architects Gary has collaborated with are the Rockwell Group, Jeffrey Beers International, Bogdanow Partners, Ten Arquitectos, Costas Kondylis & Partners, and Yabu Pushelberg.
Patrick Parsons has over 15 years of experience in the Chinese real estate market and is widely recognized as one of the first true western developers in Beijing. He has worked with Beijing’s Tier 1 Chinese developers and has built strong international relationships with the Chinese government. He has in-depth experience in research, marketing, sales, construction, and development. He has been instrumental in major apartment and office projects including villa complexes, 5-star hotels, and retail and mixed-use projects up to 1 million square meters. He has worked with and consulted for some of Beijing’s largest real estate developers.
Recently, his main focus has been in the retail and hospitality industry. Patrick has developed some of the most renowned retail and mixed development projects in Northern China varying from the top of the market with Ritz Carlton and brands such as Chanel and Gucci as well as mass market developments with 4-star hotels and brands such as Zara and H&M. He has been the pioneer of these projects.
Diego Aguilera has over 30 years experience developing complex and large-scale hotels and casinos, high-rise residential towers, and commercial projects. Since 2008, Diego Aguilera Architects P.C. has been involved in residential projects across the NYC metropolitan area.
As a former university professor, Diego has developed his own design theory about architecture as a profession, conforming and leading an international group of architects where he coordinated and produced publications, competitions, awards and lectures.
With Iberio-America, Diego is responsible for coordinating projects and conceptual design. He is also our architect of record for several other projects.
